The Juice Weight Loss Diet
There’s always been a huge variety of weight loss diets and
weight loss programs around. One of them is the “juice” diet,
which is just like it sounds. It mainly incorporates the
drinking of juice.
It's not quite as radical, both in concept and practice, as
you might think. Freshly made juices are loaded with vitamins,
minerals, and micronutrients.
Juicing breaks down the cell walls and allows all of the
nutritional value of the juice to be assimilated into your body
rather than passed through trapped by the produce's
fiber...
A typical juice diet doesn't mean you don't eat, however.
That’s a misconception. It does mean most of what you consume
during the day time is juice followed by a dinner of steamed
veggies and chicken or fish.
It’s important that you don't limit the amount of juice you
drink, and you should also try to drink a glass of water for
every glass of juice as well.
You’ll also need to buy a juicer. There's just no other way
to get the juice out of carrots, beets or spinach.
Here’s a way to follow this kind of diet.
Start the day off with a full glass of water. You can also
have the juice of half a lemon. You can drink this hot or cold
– whichever you prefer.
In an hour or so have 8 ounces of freshly produced fruit
juice. Place the juice in a blender and add one tablespoon each
of Psyllium husks, ground flax seed and aloe vera juice.
Drink this immediately, because the mixture will start to
thicken if you leave it too long.
This mixture may have a peculiar taste at first, but you'll
most likely start to enjoy the flavor once you've had it a few
times. If necessary add up to one teaspoon of organic honey to
make it taster sweeter. You can also add a handful of
strawberries, or blueberries as the mixture is blending to
change the flavors, and still keep it healthy.
During the day consume a glass of juice every 60 to 90
minutes. Don't stick with just fruit juices. Vegetable juices
taste like a salad in a glass (not as bad as you think!) Feel
free to try different things, such as kale, spinach, beets, and
carrots.
Another combination which is reminiscent of gazpacho is
tomatoes, red peppers, green peppers, and cucumbers. You can
even add a dash of Tabasco sauce if you like.
Cucumbers with dark green leafy vegetables is refreshing
with a squeeze of lime juice. When combining your juices keep
color in mind. Dark green combined with red comes out a rather
unappetizing brown – so you may want to avoid doing that.
Dinner is grilled, baked or steamed chicken or fish, with
vegetables and a salad dressed with a tablespoon of olive oil
and red wine vinegar or lemon juice. Don't skip the olive oil.
Substitute walnut or sunflower seed oil if you don't like the
taste of olive oil. You need those types of healthy fats in
your diet.
Although this kind of diet may seem a little strange, it is
quite effective. It certainly isn’t for everyone, however. But
if you like the sound of the juice diet, feel free to give it a
try!
